Unit Tools — Privacy Policy

Data Collection
Unit Tools does not require an account, and we do not collect your personal data ourselves. Your settings, favorites and conversion history stay on your device. On iOS the app shows ads served by Google, which may collect information as described under "Advertising and consent" below.
Local Storage
The app stores the following data locally on your device only: your settings (language, theme, number of decimal places and the order of categories), the category and units you last used, your favorite conversions, your conversion history (up to the 50 most recent entries), and, if you subscribe to Remove Ads, the date your subscription is valid until. This data is never sent to us or to any server. You can clear history in the app, and everything is removed when you delete the app.
Currency Exchange Rates
When you use the Currency category, the app requests exchange rates from two public services: open.er-api.com (current rates) and api.frankfurter.app (the 7-day trend chart). These requests contain only the currencies being requested; the numbers you type, your history and your favorites are never sent. Like any internet request, they are received together with your device's IP address. If the services cannot be reached, the app uses built-in default rates.
Sharing and rating
If you tap Share, the app hands a text message to the system share sheet, and where it goes is decided by you. Rate opens the App Store.
Network Access
Unit Tools connects to the internet only to load exchange rates, to load ads from Google, to present consent choices, and to check your Remove Ads subscription with the App Store. The values you convert, your history and your favorites are never sent to any server.
Advertising and consent
Unit Tools uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to show a banner ad at the bottom of the screen. The SDK may collect an IP address (which can be used to estimate general location), device or advertising identifiers, ad interactions, and diagnostic or performance information. Depending on your location, device settings, consent choices, and ad configuration, Google may use this information to deliver and measure ads, prevent fraud, and improve its services. Unit Tools does not ask permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites. Unit Tools uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present consent choices where required (for example in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom), and provides a Privacy settings option in Settings, where it applies, so you can change your choice at any time. Google processes information under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
Remove Ads subscription
Unit Tools offers an optional auto-renewing Remove Ads subscription that stops the app from requesting ads. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store; we do not receive your payment information or Apple Account details. The app checks your subscription status on your device through Apple's StoreKit, and stores only the date the subscription is valid until on your device. We do not run a server or create an account for this.
Other third-party services
Besides Google (ads), Apple (subscription), and open.er-api.com and api.frankfurter.app (exchange rates), this app does not use any other analytics or crash-reporting services.
Permissions
This app does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, or photos.
Children
Unit Tools is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your choices and rights
Your settings, favorites and history are on your device, and you can delete them in the app or by deleting the app. You can change your advertising consent at any time under Privacy settings in Settings where it is offered, and you can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings. Because we do not hold your data on a server, requests about data collected by Google for advertising should also be made through Google's own tools and privacy policy. If you have any other privacy question or request, contact us and we will reply within 30 days.
Security
Your data stays on your device and is protected by your device's own security. The app's connections to Google (ads), Apple (subscription) and the exchange-rate services are made over encrypted connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we keep what the app handles to a minimum.
